Should a government be responsible for abiding by rules set by its predecessors? I believe it should because there was a reason why they set those rules and decided to sign the document. Another reason why a government should not break or change the rules is because there could be consequences to these actions. Also why would the government that agreed to the terms want to go back to how they once were if they are better now? The government that agreed to the rules should know that this will affect everyone for however long the agreement stands. To defend these views why would people want to change something that has existed for about two centuries? This would cause more problems than it would solve because people are afraid of change and there would be no point to it also since they would lose more than they would gain. This is my opinion on how I think “if governments should abide by agreements made by their predecessors
