1) The "Columbus Controversy" is all about all of the actions that Columbus did when he found the Americas. Whe he did these things many people were outraged and did not want to celebrate Columbus Day. This led to many protests from people at Columbus Day parades. Even as far as trying to take it away from the curriculum. It even tells us the history of this voyage and the many tyrannical things he did to the "Indians".

2) Again, I am not surprised. I have heard many people not wanting to celebrate Columbus Day. I have asked before why we have school on Columbus Day. Some people would tell me how he did horrible things to people. Christopher Columbus has always been a controversy and will continue to be.

3) This relates to our World History because we are learning about Explorers. One of the most famous explorers is Christopher Columbus. It also gives us the history of Christoher Cloumbus and his voyage to the Americas. We will continue to learn about more famous explorers.
