1. For over 3,000 years, Day of the Dead has been celebrated, and to this day, it still is. It started out as a ritual that mock death, and then it grew to the modern Day of the Dead which includes skulls and trophies. The Day of the Dead was only celebrated by Aztecs at first, but when the Spanish Conquistadors came, they tried to convert them into Christianity. Unsuccessfully doing so, they merged the holiday.

2. I think celebrating the dead is a very proud thing to do, especially because it has been done for more than 3,000 years. Not only is this a way to honor the dead but it can also celebrate the Spanish coming to Mexico

3. This connects to what we are learning in class because is discusses how the Spanish tried to convert the Aztecs into Christianity; however, In there failed attempt, they only adopted the Aztec’s ways and in a way, merged religons so that both the Spanish and Aztecs are happy.
