RIHLA #8 "Social Studies Free Write"

1) This article relates to what we are learning in class because not only does it have to do with soldiers like the Roman Legion, but it has to do with religion which is Christianity in this article. A cross was put in honor of the soldiers that fought in war. It relates to the religion of christianity only believing in one god which is God. It also has to doe with soldiers in war, alike to past time in Greece and Rome. War as always.

2) What I found most interesting was what they did which was building a cross for the soldiers on veteran's day. I agree with the people that were on the side of keeping the cross. They fought against lawsuits against them for putting up the cross and still won. I agree with these people because they were honoring the soldiers when they created the cross.

3) I wonder why the American Civil Liberties Union charged these people with a lawsuit for honoring the people that fight and risk their lives for our country?
