The recipe I choose is "fried green tomatoes".

1. The origin of my recipe is from a Jewish descent. Most would figure that it is Southern dish, but it really isn't. Fried green tomatoes entered the American culinary scene in the Northeast and Midwest. From there it moved onto the menu of the home-economics school of cooking teachers who flourished in the United States in the early-to-mid 20th century.

2. No, my family doesn't identify to this recipe in anyway. My family isn't from Jewish descent, we are African American.

3. Yes, I feel that people should have a variety of foods. Different types of foods represent different cultures.

4. Yes, I feel food is important to one's culture. Food to some people isn't just a meal. Some people use food as a sense of communication. Different foods and spices come from all over the world. So having a dish that is only brought up in your culture is a very important aspect.
