Occupy wall street is a movement that began September 17,2011. While the movement began in New York, it has spread to other cities in the United States as well as other countries. The occupy movement is demonstrations centered on correcting social and economic injustices. These injustices include high unemployment, greed, and corruption within corporations.The occupy movement was started by a Canadian activist group Adbusters. The group maintains the slogan that they are the 99%. This is because it considers itself the rest of the population that is left out of the 1% of the United States wealthy population. I agree with the occupy movement. This is because I feel that with the current state of the economy, it is important not to create a bigger gap between the rich and the poor.
