A couple of weeks after I moved back to Orland, Claudine came for a visit. I first met her and her friend Marie at a hostel in London, and the three of us ended up moving to a flat together in Edinburgh. Claudine and Marie were only in Scotland for three months, and after they left, I moved into a flat with Steven, an Englishman. The three of us had some fun times in Edinburgh, getting to know ... Wow! I don't know if you've only just put this up but I'm so happy for the great memories! I can't believe it's been 7 months already. Also I'm sorry but according to Brits, I have an American accent... which means I don't have an accent in America :P Hehe can't wait till you come up North and visit me in my beautiful French city :) Cheers x

There was a Schoenhofen brewery in Chicago at one time. I bet this is the family.

Very Unpretentious!
You would think he would have one of the huge memorials.

A Wonderful Visit
You gave Claudine a real good taste of Chicago. It was fun having her here and I think she had a great time. We WILL have to visit Quebec City!

Always lots of photos!
I'm always so happy to host your friends. Claudine was so much fun and I loved learning about life in Quebec!! I was thrilled when she asked if she could stay for the "annual" Karaoke Party. You both were quite busy, but we did get some visiting time with her.

Schoenhofen
Yep, it is the same family. I never knew they had a brewery. It was pretty big, too! The mausoleum itself is pretty unique- i don't know if you can tell from this picture, but besides the pyramid shape, there's an Egyptian sphinx on one side of the door and an angel on the other. the door handle leading into the mausoleum has a snake on the handle. It's one of the more interesting tombs at Graceland

Marshall Field
Oh, he does have a huge memorial. There's a large sculpture of a woman, called "Memory." It's designed by the same guy who designed the Lincoln Memorial, Daniel Chester French.
