Two of my coworkers, Sis and Teresa taking funny pics with the camera phone It is now August 14th and I leave to go back to my little university in Juneau, AK in exactly one week. This summer has been so up and down, full of some amazingly fun experiences, and full of a little heartache as well. But for the most part, it was a summer well spent and I got to meet a LOT of new people, do some very interesting things, and learn a LOT about myself.
As a college student 9 months out of the year, I find it EXTREMELY hard to come home to Idaho and be mellow. After life is so full of cramming for stupid chemistry exams, doing 12 page biology papers, trying to find time to take the bus to the grocery store, running from bears (ok, only that once...), hanging out with friends, and trying to find a spare moment for just a little bit of down time...well, it's hard to leave all of that behind for 3-4 months. It's always nice to have a break but summer is just too long. The hardest part is leaving that freedom and going back to scheduled dinner times, planning around schedules so I don't wake people up

The fish marking trailer by coming in late, and not being able to oversleep. But with all of this also comes all of the good times.
I went back to my job as a fish clipper and was honestly dreading it a little. Last year was a little awkward...maybe because I made myself feel awkward. Ah, who knows. Anyways, so I was a little nervous about work but by the end of July, it didn't really feel like a punishment to go to work. It was rather a fun opportunity to get out of the house and go spend time with people that are extremely different from me 😊. I got to go to some familiar hatcheries like Orofino, McCall, and Rapid River. And I also got the chance to go somewhere entirely new -- Magic Valley. It was there that we changed professions for an hour from fish clippers to fire fighters!! Ah, fun times. At work, I met a LOT of new people but pretty much like always, I was one of the youngest workers. It was kind of nice being the young one though! And I got to do a lot more and get out a little when I wasn't

The fish marking line working. It was definately much nicer than staying in Lewiston all summer. And hopefully I'll see everyone again next summer!!
Back in Lewiston, ID, I went to a beach-themed wedding by the river and had a lot of fun watching my aunt get really drunk off of great tasting champagne!! That was sweet!! The next day, my family arrived (my mother's two sisters and brother). My Aunt from Ephrata and another one from California and my very Southern Uncle from Memphis all came up to our little home for a week. All of these people crammed into our tiny little house that had been scrubbed from top to bottom and we played cribbage, went on a boat tour up to Hells Canyon, drove the 'Stang around Lewiston to show the residents of Idaho what a true sports car looks like, and did a little bit of shopping. 😊 It was nice to have them all here, but by the end of the week, it would've been much nicer if our house had been just a little bit bigger!!
And now, it is my last full week in Idaho and I am packing, cleaning, trying not to freak out

My work station over little sounds coming from my new car, and spending as much quality time with my kitty as possible!! All in all, it's nice to come back to Idaho to visit, but I am so excited to go back to my little university in Alaska to see all of my friends, go tide-pooling, drive my car around, and most of...BE COLD!! I haven't been truly cold since last December and that is just too long!! When I went to North Carolina, I told everyone that I was going there to defrost. But that defrosting turned more into BAKING...which then back in Idaho became an overcooked person. These past 8 months have reminded why I hate the heat so much. When it finally snows in Alaska again, I might even cry happy tears just to feel cold again!! Ah, I can't wait!!!
So I spent the day before my 20th birthday doing something I love best...scuba diving!! It may have only been 38 feet of water but it was nice to get all of the gear back on and just play around with all of my gear without having to do any skills!! I went in the Clearwater River about

The view of the trailer from the back 8 miles past Orofino, Idaho, at a little turnoff called 5 Mile Creek. SO MUCH FUN!! The next day (my 20th birthday) I went to Silverwood with my mom, oldest sister Mandi, niece Alaina, and Alaina's friend Brandon! It was an amazing trip and a great way to spend my 20th birthday!! But now it is time for me to go clean and get ready for my roadtrip on the 21st!! GOODBYE, ALL!!
