Our last day in Missoula, we visited the University of Montana campus, walked around, visited an art gallery, enjoyed lattes, and Carolyn bought a MONTANA GRIZ t-shirt. (Also took care of last -day stuff like replenishing the fridge and filling with diesel.) We headed next to Dillon, MT, where we thought we had a reservation for two nights. Because our reservation had fallen through the cracks, we had NO reservation, and it was Labor Day weekend, and they were full! Very nice young couple, had just taken over the trailer park only 5 days previously. They found us a site for one night; and Ron called ahead to our next place in Idaho Falls. Despite it being Labor Day weekend, they did have space to let us come in a day early. Our one afternoon/dearly evening in Dillon, we drove into town, went to a really great town museum with historic outbuildings; and then to an arts festival concert in a nearby park, where we ate hamburgers off the grill. Now in Idaho Falls, Idaho, we have a lovely shaded sight in a nice park with a pool, and a pancake breakfast. Lots of smoke in air both in Dillon and
here in Idaho Falls, from nearby fires.

This would be the big fire that is not yet fully contained. Smoke from it is in Montana! Sorry you missed a longer stay, but glad you are enjoying your trip.
