Coeur d' Alene Hotel from the walk around Tubbs Hill 11th June, 2009 Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.
Beautiful day here today, woke up to not a cloud in the sky, so on with the shorts and into town, a walk around Tubbs Hill, which is similar to the walk around the Mount, but poorly sign posted so we decided to make our own track (and we had to turn around and go the long way), never mind, good for the fitness. then down to the Coeur d' Alene Hotel and around the longest floating boardwalk in the world (so they claim), plenty of non depression dollars lined up in the Marina.
We checked out the jet Skis for hire - they want $82 and hour or $595 for 8 hours (that's $993 NZ, you could put down a deposit on a new one for that), so we decided to take a power boat out from the camp.
Then a walk down Sherman Street (main street in town), decked out with Petunia's in hanging baskets. historic buildings set amongst the modern - very nice, lots of restaurants and bars (we had coffee).
Back to the camp, lunch and then into our power boat and a race around the Island - one
Canadian canoe powered by two people. Lovely leisurely paddle, scenery outstanding - Coeur d' Alene is a nice place.
Tonight we boarded the Coeur d' Alene (yes everything around here is named the Coeur d' Alene) for a dinner cruise on the Lake. Fantastic two hour leisurely cruise with entertainment, a nice evening.
