Here we go again !
Tim and I getting ready to leave for our big road trip ! As many of you may know, we took a 44 day trip last Summer that took us all the way out to California and back home. We covered many states and we were so blessed to be able to experience much of what America has to offer. We decided that we had so much fun last year and made so many unforgettable memories that we were going to hit the road again this Summer. Most you of may also know that between Tim and myself, we have four children. We really wanted to spend some time with all of them this year so we fenagled everyone's work and school schedule's so that we could be with them all. We just returned home this past Sunday from a 7 day Western Carribean Cruise where we were able to spend the week with my girls, Amber and Kayla. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed ourselves snorkeling and swimming with the sting rays. We were home just long enough to semi-recover, clean house, pay bills and catch up with all the laundry and then it was time to hit the road. Our first two days will consist of getting from Home to
Making Our Gourmet Lunch !
Ugggghhhh ! No Make-Up !! Oh well, I am on vacation you know ! Souderton, PA where will be pick up Tim's youngest son Jon and he will be joining us for about 10 days. We are soooooooo excited about getting to spend this quality time with him because he lives so far away and we only get to see him a few times a year. While Jon is still traveling with us, on July 2nd, we will pick up Tim's other son Jason along with his girlfriend Heidi and Tim's cousin Lynn at the airport in Portland, Maine. Yes ! There will be 6 adults trapped, I mean living, in the RV for about three days until Jon flies home from Bangor on the 5th. The rest of the crew will be along for the ride for about 11 days. We plan on being on the road somewhere between 5 and 6 weeks this time. This trip will take us up the East Coast and into Canada where we will have the opportunity to explore places like Nova Scotia, Prince Edwards Island, The Bay of Fundy and many more sights across Canada. I'm super excited about whale watching and puffin sightings !!! Oh yeah, how could I forget, I think Tim and Lynn
Cracker Jacks !
Tim checking out his prize from the Cracker Jack box ! have found the largest lobster in the world so we're going to check that out too !
Day 1 began kinda rocky for us because Tim woke up and was feeling kinda yucky. He's still trying to fully recover from the food poisioning/motion sickness he had from being on the cruise. I gave him a couple of gulps of Pepto Bismol and told him we had to get this party started ! After putting the finishing touches on the motorhome, we called Kayla and Porkchop (Mike) into the office for a you better keep the house clean, do the laundry, don't kill the dog, get the mail, don't burn the house down, try not to do anything stupid, we love you and we'll miss you very much talk. I'm really not sure if they heard a word we said or if they even care but I do hope that everyone's alive, well and kicking when we get back home. We were on the cruise for Father's Day and didn't get to see our Dads so we went to our son Jason's house last night for dinner with Tim's Dad and our first stop this morning will be in Hampton
Crunch !
Me enjoying some crunchy pickles ! at my Dad's house. Of course, I'm hoping he has lots of those delicious home grown tomatoes like last year ! We get all finished up and head on over to the big metropolis of Hampton to visit with Mom and Dad for a bit. Once we arrive there, Daddy has to take me outside and show me his 7, no 6 (the dog ate one) little tiny baby bunny rabbits, two baby chicks and 19 eggs that the chickens are sitting on. All the while, I've got my eye on those tomato plants on the other side of the yard ! We oogle and google over the baby animals and then I make a b-line for the garden. Uggggghhhhhhh, the disappointment ! NO TOMATOES !! Well, that's a lie, there were some but they were really tiny and green ! I told him that I forgave him but only because he's been sick and not feeling very well. We gave them their souveniers from the cruise (real vanilla from Belize and handmade cigars from Honduras), we shared lots of hugs and kisses and then we were off to Mike Delay Plumbing Company to see my brother Anthony. Yes, of
course, Anthony saved the day again by letting us borrow his Sprint wireless internet card. Thank you Anthony !! We definitely couldn't do this trip without it. I mean how would Tim be able to check his Nascar picks and how in the world would I live without my Facebook for 5 weeks ??? We get on down the highway to Mike Delay (please call for all your plumbing needs 678-618-4787) and talk with Anthony and his friend Ray for a few minutes and then we finally hit the road ! YAY ! ROAD TRIP '09 has officially began !! Look out I-85 North here we come ! After driving and napping, well Tim was driving and I was napping, for several hours, we stopped at a rest area somewhere in North Carolina to eat. I prepared a lovely meal that consisted of roast beef sandwiches on wheat with mustard, petite dill pickles and a Sargento's cheese stick ! Sorry guys, but that's about as lovely as it gets for me on vacation !! We stopped a couple of times, during the trip, for gas and potty breaks, but for the most part, Tim drove us 640 miles until we
finally decided to pull over in the Wal-Mart parking lot (laughing, remembering Kayla last Summer !) in, near, or somewhere around Virginia Beach. By this time, I was so exhausted I really didn't care where we were all I knew is that we hadn't made it to the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel/Bridge and I still had time to convince my dear husband not to make me do it ! Oh yeah, I forgot the part about how the entire trip, well, when I was awake, Tim hounded me about going over, under and through that stupid thing and while I was sleeping, he took the turn that headed us right for it !! By the time I woke up and he told me about it, we were already two hours out of the way so I really didn't have much choice. You know I was completely freaking out and man oh man did I want to hit him upside the head with something ! Oh well, I guess I'll have to put on my big girl panties and deal with it ! Of course, we're still 10 miles away from it and I could try to escape, but then again, I probably wouldn't get very far ! We'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings !! Nighty Night !!
