Day 1of our trip around the USA
Hello from Savannah, Georgia. We finally got this show on the road !!

Last week went by pretty quick, We got all organised to go and watch the shuttle take off and once again we woke up in the middle ofthe night to find they had cancelled it again until July sometime.Bugger !! Only thing was I had booked our Dodge in at Carmax in Orlando to get the key fixed on it under warranty at 8.30am, thought we would do it after watching the launch. so had to get up again about 6.30am to get up and away to be in Orlando by 8.30am.
We had to buy a brake box for the Durango , they use them for towing over here. The trailer has brakes on it that get turned on by the truck, when I put my foot on the brake the brake box sensors it and sends a signal to the trailer and puts the brakes on it too. you have to set it to the right sensitivity. We got there in the end. Only after going to move the trailer that the slide wouldnt slide back in, hours of tracing power cables and pulling the

slide motor out in the 95 degree temp ( 35 celcius) only to find a loose negative wire up by the battery, A 70cent bolt fixed that. I wasnt a happy budgie.
Meanwhile the kids have been doing a few things. They went to see the Manatees and Aligators at some park not too far from Mum and dads.
Chris and Leanna and the boys took us the "The Village" not far from here. It is one of the most amazing places you could ever go to. Basically its like the "Sims'. someone has built an entire city of 80,000 people in the middle of no where, its a retirement village. 17 golf courses, every shop you ever need. The center of each little village inside the Village has a squarewere people come every night to dance , meet up with friends for a drink or an ice cream etc. Its beautiful and warm to sit outside, we watched all the oldies doing their line dancing, No Tori wouldn't dance with me!! Dont be stupid dad , was all she would say. They drive around on there own little roads next to our roads in their suped up golf carts. thats

what you saw in Joshs blog. some of them are amazing. So you can go everywhere in your golfcart, just leave the car in the shed.
On thursday we headed into Orlando after a few jobs and went to wet n Wild as Josh told you a bit about. What an awesome day!! Perry and I did the exact same water park 27 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! doesnt seem that long ago. I had just as much fun today as I did that day.We stood in line for the 1st ride for about an hour and watched people walk right past you with an express pass thing on their wrist and thought bugger this. So we went and got one of those each , ANOTHER $100. Best thing we ever did. We went on every ride in the park and went on a few of them 3 or 4 times. And we walked right past the other people waiting in line and they looked at us as if to say " you barstards !!" But we were only there once and asit was we had this massive thunder storm come through and they closed the park when we were 4 people

from the top of the line to go on this ride. So we just hung around for a coupleof hours watching the lightning show. then they opened it back up and away we went again. Went to Dennys across the road for dinner afterwards, got home about 10.30pm Big day , to find Josh had left his kit bag in the Denny,s restaurant in Orlando. after a frantic phone call to them, yes they had found it and they were open 24 hrs. Kylie and I drove back to Orlando about and hour away and back, through the toll booths etc. Got to bed about 1am. It was going to happen to one of us sooner or later.
Friday we did more shopping for the trailer, groceries, a portable fridge like my one at home. bike helmets, CD's for the road trip.HaHa I bought 2 Garth Brooks CD's just to piss them off in the back seat. they bought NOW 30. We had to stock up on Celiac food while we new where to buy it. We baked our 1st loaf of mum's bread in the trailer, beautiful !! Kids went ten pin bowling. Claridges vs Claridges. I bought dad a

webcam for his computer for fathers day which is on sunday here. tried to set that up withnot a lot of joy.
Saturday , Josh went golfing with Dad, Chris and christopher earlyas thats the best time of the day to go. By the time he got back we were packed up and we hit the road.
We got away about 10, Kids were bored by about 10.30. Josh got the high score on Yahtzee and told us all about it. The poor old Dodge is down to 8.2MPG towing "the big Turd" as Josh calls it. We need to find a better name than that for it.But we did sit on about 60 mph , so we made reasonably good time. Kylie and Josh had to have Taco bell forthe 1st time on this trip. Tori and I are only allowed the Nachos, whohoo what a lot of selection we get and Tori didnt like the tomatoes that came on it.Kylie and Josh had a ball. 89c burritos, they had about 5 of them. We finally got to savannah , Georgia. with only one stop for Gas. Stopped at the Georgia state info place, got some brochures, Rang a

The tree lined streets of Savannah
few RV parks and they were full, found a good one not far out of Savannah. Under the trees, nice swimming pool. Kylie said they could have at least had COLD water , air temp was 38 degrees celcius, water was probably about 30. it felt like a bath.Shower and toilet blocks are good and Im $16 under budget / night. Im sure well spend it somewhere.
Got up this morning, sunday, Fathers day and went into town . Caught a bus tour around the tourist sights of Savannah. A very old city, 1783 it was started I think. Traded cotton way back which is what made it as big as it is. When that died and war was on , it went backwards. Now its a bit touristy the old part of town anyway, and a bit industrial, ship yards and steel mills etc. The civil war played a big part of around here. Martin Luther king highway and the civil war,Klu Klux Klan and that sort of stuff. We wentback intotown after tea to go for a walk down by the river, thats one of the main areas to look around, it was still bloody hot but an ice

cream hit the spot as a fathers day present nicely. kids had another swim during the day. Spose to have a thunder storm here tomorrow, so well see. Cooking in the trailer is going alright. You dont have alot of room to spread out. I bought a large chopping board that covers the sink and I got dad to shape it so it doesnt move and that makes a huge difference. The fridge and freezer are chocker block. We have a full hook up, which means we get power, water, sewage connection and TV.Not that Josh and I can get the TV to go yet. that might be a rainy day job.
Ill try and get some photos on here in the morning.
