Today we were hyped because not only is it our first state line day, but we also get to take a ferryyyy! We awoke in Jax with alarms and lights going off wayy too early due to a miscommunication (though in reality we probably should’ve gotten up when they went off!). We packed up and then me and the Ellies efficiently packed up the trailer with all bags, bins, and some bikes for those who were safety naving for the day. We enjoyed a breakfast with the church ladies that hosted us that consisted of bananas, bagels, OJ, coffee, and LARA BARS! ?? Up and at ‘em. Time to keep moving. We have places to go and things to do. Grab your stuff and let’s go. NOPE....not going anywhere fast. A car has blocked us in at the Microtel in Statesville, N.C. where we spent the night. Oh, dear. I put a post on Facebook last night announcing our arrival here. I included a photo of Lulu drooling over our delivered pizza and wings. What were we thinking? I guess we ordered so much because we knew you all would be starving. It was tasty but way too much for even you so Cory took a pizza and a half down to the desk staff. They were appreciative. We struggled a little here at this Microtel. Travels with (A) Snowbird(s) May 2012 Wilmington, NC to Kingsland, GA. Thanks to Laurie Dalton. She reminded me I should be blogging on this road trip. I have a few hours before sleep, a good internet connection, lots of good TV to watch, a DQ Blizzard by my side and I am ready to go. I am on a non RV road trip to a family wedding in Clearwater Beach, FL. The daughter, Audrey Schade, of my cousin thru (ex) marriage, Valerie Hornell Schade, is getting married on Saturday, and I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation. My readers might remember that I visit Valerie each year when on my winter Snowbird trip. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be on the beach.
