We're back in Florida - the past 2 weeks have been spent prepping Gust O'Wind for another southern sailing season...and blowing the budget in the process. As every boater knows, there is nothing sane about boating.. Our favourite analogy is..."Sailing is like standing under a cold shower tearing up $100 bills."

We launched yesterday, but now will have to wait while hurricane Ida decides what she wants to do...she is the boss!

we were so glad to have rented this place for 2 weeks while we worked on the boat...just for the air conditioning...it was 35c during the first week here

also on Sunday we enjoyed Sharkey's Pub at the Venice pier...we had earned the treat! The jug of beer is not as huge as it looks - there is a frozen plug in the centre to keep the beer cold - great idea!

it's always a little tense drilling a new hole through the hull of your boat...this one for a fresh water shower on the swim platform.
