Atlas V Launch

An Atlas V rocket blasted off from Kennedy Space Center tonight and I got to see it from Ormond Beach. I was able to find a well lit place to leave the car near a hotel and lots of people were walking on the beach to see the launch so I felt safe.

There was a light on the ground before lift-off, I was watching the live news feed on my phone, then the rocket took off much faster than I thought it would. By the time I got 3 pictures taken it was almost out of sight, then the rumble came. Sounded like thunder.

Everybody cheered.
