DAN ENJOYING THE STORMDAN ENJOYING THE STORMDAN ENJOYING THE STORM

PS 200km/h winds just metres away
Nothing will ever be such a terrify experience as to waking up to the most intense sound of 200+ km hour winds of a Category 3 Hurricane that wilma was.
Drinking a finnegans to 3am the night before even walking home was tough in the wind walking across the street not down it due to the strength of the wind but anyway back to where i was 14th floor of the Shelborne Hotel Miami Beach Hang over (my own fault i Know) looking out the window no beach could be seen the wind was that strong the building was shaking and a massive rubbling sound

so instantly hang over or not it was no longer safe up here once debree started to hit the window its time to leave we left our stuff in the bathroom and got out the power was still on at this stage so off we went daniel reminded me not time for the elevator great thinking as the power went out on the way down so carrying cameras (of course) we started document the experience that was hurricane Wilma getting to about the 3rd floor we meet a couple looking out a window as a
MID STORM MID STORM MID STORM

most of our pictures don't show the intensity of the storm this is the best one
large piece of rope was belting into it they were just staring out the window, we are like move, time to go if that had come through the window someone was getting hurt or even killed so onward we went now 4 of us we meet one other person and there seemed to be no way out as several doors had been locked i noticed that one lead into the ballroom which i knew was up stairs from the lobby so i said to our group, "we a breaking down that door" as sitting in the dark was not where this day was going to end so luckly one of the group had a flash light as no the power was out and it was getting hot i held the light and film as the guys crashed through the door and freedom at last to the lobby we told staff that they really shouldnt of locked those doors but most spoke spanish and didnt seem concerned by it i guess they were worried about they're own safety and not ours.

In the lobby we could see out the front dan thought time for a smoke so out we went

this area was quite protected and a great viewing place for the storm.

Although there were thousands of warnings to stay of the streets and outta cars people to our absolute disbelief were walking up the street and driving as well no considering the extent of this storm i still can't believe it.

From the lobby we slept, watched and generally past time until we could, well do something about 3pm we could head out and inspect damage.

Today tuesday the 25th of october we are still in Miami Beach as the airport is closed were are staying in a place in Bayside/downtown right near the port there are thousands of stranded tourists here trying to catch cruise ships but due to damage as with the airport nothing is leaving today, Dan and I ound a cheap room for about $50 which we are happy with its dank, but has tv, running water and power its amazing how u miss the things that we all take for granted. even though its only just 24 hours or so after wilma has taken of to find Fred (the news have been playing the flintstone story all week so i
