This was one of the areas that I really didn't schedule enough time in as I knew that it would be easier to visit after moving to Tennessee. We were here only two nights but there was a lot to do there. These plants are bromiliads that are basically air plants and require limited water living off moisture in the air around it....one of the adaptations to little rainfall in the region.

never did see the cause of all these bubbles although we guessed fish or frogs...the water is that color from tanin leaked by mangrove roots. Tannin is also in tea.

at the end of tthe one way trail as you can see it was low tide but a pretty view

the ranger said that although pythons are not native to the area several pet pythons have been released into the wild and have established themselves. This skin was 12 ft long and she said that there have been some almost 17 ft! We didn't see any while hiking.
