The name is Bond...James Bond.
Ahhhhhh DC. The capital of our Nation and in recent times the subject of much political tension. Apparently that tension was infectious, as we entered the edge of the district limits to check into our hotel. There were some among us who were miffed about staying in Maryland, which was factually incorrect and contrary to the reservation, hotel website, and District of Columbia borders. However, when arguing with angry liberals one finds that rational thought and facts hold little weight in the face of raw emotion.

Regardless we moved forward through the D.C. metro station with our trip to a microbrewery named Gordan Birsch. Excellent food and drink selection and the Moroccan salmon is to die for. After some quick fortification we walked across the street to the spy museum. Being someone who loves spy movies and lore this was awesome. A little childish at time but the museum had some interesting pieces of Cold War era spy equipment. It amazing the stuff that people came up with to gather intelligence. If you like spy fiction this is a must see.

Afterwards, we retired back at the room which apparently had construction going on outside of it. The hotel is really not winning me any points here. Showered, unpacked, etc and then set out for dinner at Georgetown. Not much happening in Georgetown that night. Maybe it was the bad weather or the colleges being out of session. Regardless the random tavern we ate dinner at was pretty good. Afterwards we walked the ave looking for a bar but nothing really caught our eye so we hailed a cab back to the hotel. Chilled for a bit at the hotel bar and then brought the party back to the room. Overall not a bad day. The weather could have cooperated a bit more but given the time frame we were working with I was satisfied. Looking forward to getting a nice complimentary breakfast in the morning and getting an early start on the day
