Drugs
This makes me look like I am going to be a drug dealer haha SEMESTER AT SEA IS FINALLY HERE AHHH!!! So Excited!!
This is going to be my official blog of pictures, stories and journal entries as I go on this big adventure around the globe. Please feel free to save this link to my travel blog and follow me on my journey these next four months (www.mytb.org/Brynns-Semester-At-Sea). I am hoping that I will get to post quite regularly here on this page, so check it often! Or you can subscribe to my blog an get email notifications whenever I update it.
First thing I did to prepare for my trip…cut all of my hair off and donated 17” to Locks of Love!! The short hair will be much easier to take care of on this trip, it was my new years resolution to do it, and I helped a kid with cancer feel better about their appearance =). What a weird feeling to have had long hair my whole life and now only have couple inches!! Scroll to bottom to see pictures.
Today is was officially my last day in Colorado before the big adventure begins!!
As of 1/16/12 @ 3:45am I will be leaving with
Floor Sprawl
Everything I needed to pack for Semester At Sea the parents for the airport and then it's off to the Bahamas to enjoy a few days at a resort and scuba diving with Sharks!! I will then be boarding the MV Explorer (Ship) on Thursday 1/19/12!!
I spent all day packing and thinking of absolutely everything. As seen in the pictures I sprawled everything out across my floor, went through it all twice and got rid of some stuff to lighten the load and condensed it all in to two rolling duffels (42 pounds each) a small carry on and my back pack!! Kind of amazed that a semesters worth of necessities, toiletries and belongings ended up being that light and well condensed.
I'm sure you are all wondering where it is I am going and when and what this is all about so let me tell you a little bit about what I am doing. I go to Humboldt State University and I am a double major in Marine Biology and Zoology with a minor in Scientific Diving. I love to travel and have always had a dream to travel to every country in the world, so I figured this would be a great start along
Packed!
Everything condensed into this! with an amazing experience and education. Semester at Sea is through the University of Virginia and is basically a floating school that goes around the world. The ship has capacity for 800 people most of them being students and life long learners (Adults who want to join, travel, and learn). The faculty and staff are also aboard the ship teaching us in classrooms as we go and keeping the boat running.
The ship will be taking us to eleven different countries, completing a full circle around the globe in 105 days!! Below is my itinerary if you would like to know where I will be and when.
