It was a harrowing day. We spent the entire day preparing for, eating and returning from lunch. Such is the daily life of retired folk. We got a call last night from Hugh and Marlene Martin; friends who live in Pueblo, CO. They were in.......wait for it............BRENTWOOD, California!! Just about a 40 minute drive from Lodi. We left home at 10am, did some errands, got a Lodi library card for Dave 😊 then drove to Brentwood. And we would have been on time if not for the tiniest mistake from the navigator.
We talked and talked, finally ordered lunch, ate and ate some more, talked and talked some more, left for home and got back to the Lodi house around 4:30.
After spending the day planning and eating lunch, we skipped dinner.
PS We also met Hugh's granddaughter Ashley who is lucky enough to look like her handsome grandfather.

Lunch at Grazies in Brentwood
Hi Dave & Donna Great Picture!! JUST WHEN we were starting to feel like chopped liver ordinary Californians, we had the opportunity to meet with you two sophisticated cosmopolites and enjoy a great repast and conversation. What fun!! Saddened only by the over abundance of bread on Marlene's thicker than possible to consume sandwich, I personally thought the food and wine were great. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we'll see you in December. Remember.... we're bringing in the New Year together. Hugh & Marlene
