Disneyland
Scott super happy!! Day 4 - Disneyland Part 1
Got up around 6.30am this morning to head on over to Disneyland. Weather was a bit overcast. Put the address into the GPS and off we set. The freeways were crazy busy that time of morning going in, but got there in around 90min or so - at around 9.40. Parked no problems and caught the shuttle bus into Disneyland. Lines weren’t too long so got through pretty quickly. Had bought tickets online so didn’t have to line up to buy them, just to get in. Was exciting to be at Disneyland as Scott had never been and he was psyched and I had been about 13 years ago, but was super excited to be back!!!
Started off in main street, and the whole place was decked out for Halloween, it was very cool. They really go to a lot of effort. Headed straight on over to adventure land and did the jungle cruise. Very cheesy but lot of cool animals on it. Then went on Indiana Jones, which was really awesome....was a rollercoaster which was better than I’d remembered. Set indoors and got to do lots of twists and turns and drops. Next was
Pirates of the Caribbean, which was a boat ride on water into the land of pirates. Had a few drops down, which was cool. Haunted Mansion followed and this was cool. The whole place was decked out in Halloween and was super creepy. Walked along for awhile, and then got onto little carts that took you into a spooky world of Halloween themed creepiness!! The next ride we went on was to come back to haunt me for the rest of the day......Splash mountain!!! I thought been on this before you don’t get too wet we’ll be right.....how wrong I was!! It is a log ride through a mountain where you come down a water fall and land below. I was in the front row of the cart and I got SATURATED. All of my jeans were drenched my jumper, t-shirt everything. The ride was AWESOME however, so was all worth it. But the sun was not out and it was in fact beginning to rain.....so I spent the rest of the day cold and uncomfortable...but it was Disneyland so I just got on with it. Scott managed to come out of it relatively unscathed.
From here, headed over to
Disneyland
Entry into Fantasyland Tom Sawyer island, which was really aimed at kids...so didn’t spend long over there. Grabbed a coffee and lunch before going on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This was a pretty cool rollercoaster too. From here went on over to Fantasy land where we went on some old school kids Disney rides - Snow White, it’s a small world, Pinocchio’s daring journey and snow white’s scary adventures. It was at this stage it was starting to rain, so had a look in toon town, but didn’t really do much as it was raining couldn’t get many photos. Headed back to Fantasyland to do the Matterhorn, which was the best ride so far of the day. Then took the monorail around the park to try and stay dry for awhile. Once this finished, headed over to Main Street to try and buy some clothes as I’d had enough of being cold. Found some things to buy, got changed and I was much warmer and happier!! Headed over to Tomorrow land where we did the toy story ride, which was interactive and you got to shoot things whilst on a cart moving. I won!! Then did the Caption EO 3D movie, which was
Disneyland
Haunted Mansion alright, but wouldn’t do it again...we are too young to remember Caption EO!! Then lined up for about 50 minutes to do Space Mountain, which was absolutely awesome!! It’s a rollercoaster in the dark, in “space” so you fly through the stars. Worth the wait, and my fav of the day. Then headed over to Finding Nemo, an underwater submarine ride. This was pretty cool as well, certainly different. By this stage it was about 6.30 and we wanted to grab food and buy a few things before the parade. We bought a few souvenirs and toys that Scott wanted, but thought we’d get food after parade as it was nearly 7. So lined up and waited for the parade. Again pretty cheesy, but it’s Disneyland and it was pretty cool parade. By the time that finished it was almost 8pm and the park was shutting so headed on back to the car to get food on the way home. First stop was IHOP (International House of Pancakes), but the wait was going to be 10min and people were already walking out due to poor service, so got back in the car and found California Pizza Kitchen. Pizza was great
Disneyland
Halloween decorations at haunted mansion and tasted very fresh - not like takeaway pizza at all. So our impression of American pizza so far is great!! Also had a beer - which again was great. So the 2 things we thought about US - Shit pizza and beer...were proved wrong in one meal...lol.
The drive home was much quicker as no traffic, but had to park in the 24 hour garage near hotel, as none at hotel. Pretty much crashed as soon as got home. Tomorrow we have more fun back at Disneyland and California Adventure Park......

Disneyland looks and sounds like so much fun! I'm not going to show the kids these pictures, they will try and talk us into going!
