Day 2 and we went on a Discovery Tour of Koh Samui island for several hours and visited Bhuddist temples, landmarks with legendary stories about them, shopping in towns with so many utility wires it would make even Mikie cringe, trained Maka monkeys to climb palm trees and harvest coconuts, and so much more. The highlight of the trip was unexpected: riding an elephant through a rainforest to a waterfall. Our guide would periodically pretend something was dreadfully wrong while we were perched perilously high atop on the elephant's back. And after a short jump of our hearts, he would laugh with delight. The Thai people are easy to laugh and smile, have great senses of humor, although even shy, but always greet you with a bow of the head with praying hands in front of their faces as in humility and with grace. They most often have children that live with parents far away and only visit them every 2-3 months. We must count our blessings...

mmmmmm......that looks soooooo good. Where's the BEEF? What the heck is that? Susie, are you loosing weight? I wonder if the elephants have their own Chiropractors. My boss would love the Buddha, it would be too big for their yard though. Have fun and be Careful! Love, Bethie
