Hiking through Yosemite National Park Got up around 6:30AM, still very drunk from last night, and got ready for a big day of hiking. I got a bottle of water, lunch and some snacks ready to take with me, but I needed more water, we'd get some on the way. We all hopped in the van for our drive to Glacier Point in Yosemite Valley and stopped at a gas station to discover it wasn't open yet. No problem, we'll use the vending machines around the side, but.. they didn't work, we had only the supplies that we took from camp, we thought it would be ok. We continued on quite a drive and I was feeling terribly sick from last night, I ended up sleeping most of the drive before we reached Glacier Point. When we arrived we gathered around the map and Jon told us which way to go, we then lined up and took a few photos of the group. We went to find the trailhead but looked everywhere, we were going around in circles and had no idea where the hike began, we kept ending up in the car park. We found Jon in the bathroom and asked him where we go,

Hiking through Yosemite National Park it was hilarious we'd walked past it and had no idea it was there.
Off we set, it wasn't long before we encountered some wildlife and stopped to take photos. We hiked all of the morning looking at breathtaking views, it was amazing. We went on and on hiking for miles before we eventually reached the base of half dome. We continued on and walked for hours, we were running out of water and by halfway up the mountain we stopped to have lunch to get some much needed energy. We took out the sandwiches we'd made and they looked terrible, the heat had got to them and they didn't look very edible so after thinking about it for a while we threw them away. We sat for a while considering to turn back but we were so close, we decided to keep going. When Lucy, Tina, Dave, Ben and I got to the edge of half dome itself, we could see it but we were so tired it was hard to go any further. The views were amazing and we took plenty of photos before turning and starting back down. We were stopped by a few guys who

Hiking through Yosemite National Park we bumped into on the way up, they saw us heading down and told us how close we were that we had to keep going. So we did, we went all the way up the top until Lucy's fear of heights kicked in. She didn't want to go any further, so I agreed and eventually Dave stopped as well. The views were just incredible, we took some pictures and just sat for a bit taking it all in. When we headed down, there weren’t too many people going up, that’s because we could see a big storm in the distance and it was coming here fast. At the base Lucy, Dave and I waited while Tina and Ben went up a little further. There was no way we were meeting Jon at 7PM, it took us around 4-5 hours to walk up the mountain, now we had to go back down.
Afterwards Tina and Ben came to meet us, along with the three guys we'd met. They gave us some food which we desperately needed then we headed down, going a slightly different way then we came, it was extremely tough. We walked for hours, our legs were incredibly

Hiking through Yosemite National Park sore and tired. We were walking in the dark, we could hear animals making noises, we were getting very worried. Finally we made it to the bus stop and met up with Jon and the rest of the group at a pizza place. Turns out he was extremely worried and had been calling the park rangers and asking around for any news on us. We walked for 12 hours today doing over 20 miles up, down and around this mountain, some of us only on a few hours sleep. We got back to the campsite and we all fell straight sleep.
