The windy city was more like the rainy city when our train finally chugged into Chicago. the second city of America felt kinda like halfway. our gateway to Cali. In our minds the spotless promise of eternal sunshine was just a train ride away. This was where we would step on to the California zephyr. This is Merced. Every five minutes a freight train would steam past, taking at least ten minutes to get by, shaking the foundations of the houses next to the station. We could see everyone in their houses up all night folding hankies because they couldn't sleep... Living the American dream I guess.

After walking for ten miles through the wilderness and seeing no bears. We got back to the campsite and saw three, yes three on the local shuttle bus. Typical!

We slipped into the Chicago aquarium sort of accidentally without paying. I am not paying $30 to see a bunch of fish said Sharlie. So we just looked at a few fish. Not too many though or we might start feel guilty.

We felt kinda bad for the big fish,sharks, dolphins and whales all cooped up. So we only took photos of the little ones. I bet they appreciated it.
