De Mexico a San Francisco...

Tout petit article pour vous conter une anecdote qui m'a permis de prendre pas mal de photos vues du ciel. Après avoir rempli les formulaires certifiant que je ne suis pas un terroriste et que je n'ai aucune intention d'assassiner leur président (je rigole pas il faut répondre a ces question pour pouvoir entrer aux USA) j'effectue un vol sans encombre de Mexico a San Francisco pendant 4h.Sauf que San Francisco était particulièrement brumeux ce jour la donc embouteillage d'avions qui avait du mal a se poser en raison de la visibilité quasi nulle. On commence a faire des ronds dans le ciel en attendant le feu vert pour atterrir...Sauf qu'après 1h de petits ronds la situation n'avait pas évolué!Le capitaine nous indique que nous n'avons presque plus de carburant...chose a ne pas dire dans un avion en l'air 😊 Petit coup de panique mais le capitaine rassure tous le monde dans la foulée:nous allons nous diriger a Reno qui se situe a quelques centaines de kilomètres (45min de vol) au nord-est de San Francisco pour faire le plein. Atterrissage a Reno...attente...plein...attente...décollage. Nous voici donc de retour au dessus de San Francisco pour un atterrissage sans encombre bien qu'assez flippant:visibilité nul jusqu'a environ 15m du sol. Un vol de 4h qui se transforme en 8h...heureusement que j'ai fait nuit blanche. Tous ceux qui avaient des correspondances à prendre les ont bien entendu manquées. Ironie du sort:le passager assis derrière moi devait changer a San Francisco pour se rendre a...Reno .Il n'a pas pu débarquer a Reno quand nous y étions (questions de sécurité et de logistique) et sa correspondance était partie depuis belle lurette. Il lui fallut donc attendre le prochain vol pour Reno. Le pilote s'est personnellement excusé auprès du passager en question.




Very small post to relate an anecdote that gave me the opportunity to take a few pictures from the plane.After filling the forms to make sure I wasn't going to the USA as a terrorist or with the intention of killing their president (no kidding we do have to answer those questions) I enjoy a quiet 4h flight from Mexico to San Francisco...except that San Francisco was extremely foggy which caused a big traffic jam of planes who had difficulties to land.So we started to do in circles in the sky while waiting for the authorization for landing.After about an hour of little circles the captain announced that we were running out of gas...maaaaarvellous.It's not a really bright thing to say while you're in the air as you might imagine and a few people freaked out.The captain took little time to explain we would be heading to Reno which is a few hundred kilometers north-east of San Francisco to fill up the plane (45min flight).Landing...waiting...filling up...waiting...waiting...taking off.So we get back near San Francisco and the queue is gone so we can land quickly and safely despite hardly any visibility.4h flight that became an 8h one...good thing I didn't sleep last night.All the passengers who had to catch a connecting flight were obviously screwed.Funny day for the guy seating behind me who had to catch another flight to...Reno.They wouldn't let him out of the plane when we were there for security and logistic reasons.So he had to fly back with us to San Francisco and wait for the next flight to Reno.The pilot personally apologized to the guy which was quite funny too.
