Hello Again,
Well done to all those who subscribed, disappointingly Holly loses, being the last to add her email to the list.
Last night I went to the waterfront area, I managed to walk despite barely being able to move my legs, and went to Joes Crab Shack, a typical american, touristy place which was good, I had coconut shrimp which was tasty. Its strange being in a place where everyone else is drinking beer and not being able to drink. I decided to have a smoothie thing to make me feel less puritan, but my bannana and strawberry thing was bright pink and came in a big tall glass with an umbrella in it, which wasn't quite the look I was going for either!
All was going well, until all of a sudden the whole restaurant started clapping along to 'Car Wash' and all of the waiters (or 'Servers') ran to the middle of the restaurant got into lines, and did a dance routine while everyone clapped and cheered. Everyone else seemed to be expecting it, and was loving it, but I was so shocked, it was the funniest thing I've seen for a long time, and
definitely the highlight of my meal. Its quite strange here people eat really early, when I went in at about 7.00 the place was packed, and I had to wait for a table, but by the time I left it had really emptied out, and outside the front was a lot less busy. I walked back and got a cab home, walking past one of my favourite shops, 'The Quake Zone' presumably so called because it commeorates the big earthquake in san francisco, however it sells the tackiest kind of touristy souvenirs. Tasteless you might think? No its ok because there are lifesize statues outside the front door honouring the emergency services.
Anyway, today I decided to go to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. It doesn't open til 11am, so I sat and had a coffee nearby for a while, again, because I'm english this man got talking to me, and he was a photographer from San Diegov(this isn't some kind of weird story where I get asked to model underwear) , and he kept going on about how great the city is, and he showed me a catalog with some of his photos in, and they
were amazing (you can see them
here , bear in mind they're all taken with film, with nothing digitally altered)
Anyway, the museum was amazing, there was an amazing exhibition by a person who did all sorts of amazing things with mirrors and lights and it was really impressive, and I really enjoyed it, the building is fantastic too. They had a sculpture thing which was kept in a freezer which you had to go inside so you could see the artwork!
Then I went for a walk around a park, and then I walked to powell street where the cable cars leave from. However I saw an abercrombie store so I had a browse there, and also an american eagle store! I thought it would be fun to have a photo of me below the american eagle store sign, wearing my american eagle t-shirt for the blog, but the shop assistant got a bit funny, so I had to sneakily just take a photo of the sign without me in it. Anyway, I then went to go on the cable car.
The cable cars were invented to deal with the hillyness of San Fran. There is a cable underneath the road, which the car sort of hooks on to, and it pulls the car along, a bit like a tram. Anyway, they're one of those 'Must Do' things in SF, so I went on one. As you can see the cars are very old, and its a bit scary as they're totally open sided. If you click on the film logo in the top left hand corner of the screen, you can see a video of how they turn them around. They drive them on to a turning circle, the driver hops out and just pushes the car around, then has to catch up with it to drive it again! Its quite funny to watch. The journey was really nice too as it goes all through the streets if san francisco right up to the waterfront.
Anyway, so thats about it for today. Tomorrow I'm going to SD so I'll hopefully update you when I get there!
Lewis

Thanks for removing the video -it was causing problems. I'm glad you got to see the Museum of Modern Art. I enjoyed that when I was there last year - a very futuristic building. How far from San Francisco is San Diego?
