San Fransisco is a brilliant city and I am so happy i went back an visited it again. I would say it is probably the best city in the U.S. There is so much to do and it is so spectacular, from any type of cuisine you want to amazing scenery. The hills are pretty hard on the old legs though so if any one does go there I would advise going on the tram. they are steep.
The beaches there are pretty cool however the water is something else )bloody freezing). I think there was a reason why noone escasped Alcatraz. Obviously I had to do the touristy part of going over to Alcatraz and look at the cell which house Al Capone. Its a really good tour though and not a bad price, but bloody hell I would not have liked to have been sent there. It is a facinating place but you can really imagine how hardcore it would have been back in the day.
Thankfully the whole time we were in San Fransisco the weather was amazing. It normally has a reputation for being a
bit cold but it was scorching hot. There is so much culture there its untrue. I hope the pictures describe it better than I can as it is so hard to put a picutre of a city into peoples minds just by talking about it. All you need to know is it is a beautiful place and hopefully all the pics will do the rest. Also I thought I would post up a little video of this cool old busking lady that made us laugh in San Fransisco. Hope you like it. In total we spent nearly 3 daying there and I would say on the money we had that was a perfect amount of time. If you had a little more cash you could say there for ever just eating and drinking.
One think I did notice however was they definately have a good quality of life. I dont think anything about any of the locals was real. From the porches, ferraris and BMWs to the fact that all the population was about 30 yrs old and looked about 22. I have never seen a set of people in such good shape. They
look after themselves that is for sure and they are really friendly, unlike the people in Monatana.
Any how after 3 days we decided it was time to be on our way and cruise up the pacific coast. However we got a little rotted as thick mist came in and we could see nothing. It was a real shame as it was meant to be and amazing diive. The little bits we did see look spectacular, however they were only little bits. The waves were good fun though and definately gave you a good hiding when you got in amoungst them. The water however was bitter. So cold it took about an hour to warm up.
Due to the weather it means this story basically jumps straight to portland and seattle as we had to head inland to get away from the mist. A real shame but not to worry as portland and seattle were awsome. Such cultural cities. I actually think portland was my favourite of the two. Prehaps becasue it was a real student town with so much to offer. It was a really trendy
place with lots of cool bars and retaurants. I think I am going to go back at some point durring my stay over here.
Seattle is also a really cultural place and a must see. Again it is hard to describe as it is another city it just has a lot to offer and such a breath of fresh air from other cities we have seen. The sky line is awsome too.
I am putting a lot of pictures up on this blog as I think they can draw a better picture of the whole thing. Unfortunately they dont line up with the text but you can work it out. This does bring us to the end of the road trip. It was an awsome, although a little pricy, but I would recomend anyone to do it. So a huge amount of different scenery and different people with different attitudes. A real eye opener to the states if you as me.
Also at the top of this blog there is a map which should show you the whole route we took. It was
along way round and a lot of ground was covered. If it is not there as it doesnt always work click this link and you can see it
