You look like mountain people..... Managed to endure a 4 hour bus ride to San Diego, home of legendary anchorman Ron Burgundy. You may not of heard of him but he's kind of a big deal around here. We had heard of a hostel right on the beach but couldn't get in on the Monday probably as everywhere was packed out for Labor Day holidays so we stayed slightly further south at Ocean Beach for one night. It was cool but there was no drinking allowed after 11, what the f up with that??!! But it was ok cos we just took some beers down to the beach and sat round a fire while some locals were playing guitar, very SoCal dude. We did have to put up with a few wackos, one in particular wanted to know if we were ocean people or mountain people - whatever freak show!! Headed straight up to Pacific Beach the next morning for our sojourn at Banana Bungalow, which was actually on the beach. This was supposed to be a week of relaxation, swimming, surfing and topping up the tan, which it was but we still managed to find time for a few drinks. The view from our deck

We did get a little pier-ced at times :) was great and was also the staging place for the nights festivities/entertainment. We played flip cup, beer pong and a few other drinking games, during which we met an awesome gang of people and staff who all added to extra fond memories of the place. Our first night out I lost Steve whilst we were pretending to be a car at a Taco Bell drive thru, it was only in the morning that I found out he had gone to Tijuana (Mexico) with some of the lads from the Bungalow and had returned at 6, cheers mate! We did do an organised tour to Tijuana (it's only 30 mins away) which was a hilarious all day tequila fest. Chugging huge Margaritas at 11 it kind of went downhill from there, reached the bottom when I recieved a lapdance from the hairiest, ugliest, fattest senorita/hombre in the worst strip joint ever. Thanks Michelle, I think the moment when it put her tongue in my ear will have me waking up screaming in a cold sweat for many a year!
Did actually do quite a bit of swimming/surfing/body boarding, the waves were pretty big to us but a top aussie we met,
Bananarama
Never seen em before in my life Jamie, said they were nothing compared to some of the places in Oz, he also gave us some well needed instruction - Cheers Baxter!!!! We stayed an extra night because another top bloke we had met, Tim, had decided to go to Vegas and it would be cheaper to hire a car. Des, Lee, Ian, Andrew, Karen, Verity, Danielle, Graeme - had a great time guys, stay in touch and more importantly STAY CLASSY!
