My friend Vrinda is traveling around the United States over the next two weeks. She is a very good friend that I met in India about 4 years ago. You probably remember her from the snow board excursion to Kashmir in 2008. Kim and I hung out with Vrinda often when we lived in Delhi and Vrinda is one of the nicest people I know.

Vrinda stopped in Sunnyvale, California this week and visited a college friend who immigrated from India several years ago. Next, Vrinda came to San Francisco and we spent Friday in Napa Valley and Saturday at Alcatraz. Now, she will spend 3 days in Vegas, 5 days in Washington DC, and then 3 days in New York.

Napa Valley and Sonoma are known world-wide for their fine wines and a day in wine country is hard to beat. Some of the best wines in the world are from California.
We also went to Alcatraz which is an Island in the San Francisco Bay that is a former prison that housed some of the most notorious criminals in US history. Enjoy the pictures!!
