Hotel Amusement

We haven't been able to update you recently because of the poor access to internet in LA. We're now getting settled in mammoth where the library is about a mile away, so we shouldnt have any trouble from no on. Heres a run down of whats happened so far.

Our Flight to Auckland was delayed 2 hours so we got off to a pretty bad start. More flying and alot of waiting around got us to L.A at about 2pm on Friday the 8th. We went for a walk around the hotel which we would be staying at for the next 2 days and soon found out that we infact don't speak english.
Aydan: "Excuse me, what does ralph's sell? (pointing at large ralphs store)
American: Blank stare.
Aydan: "What does that store sell?"
American: Blank stare.
Aydan: "Do they sell food?"
American: Blank stare.
Nathan: (spoken s l o w l y) "DOES RALPH'S SELL FOOD?"
American: "Uhh.. umm no... no, I don't know" (walks away holding 3 bags with the ralph's logo on it).

So we spent most of our time chilling out in our hotel room watching ESPN and went out for the occasional meal which was mostly subway across the road. We didn't have a kitchen so we couldn't get much stuff from the supermarket aka pharmacy so we had to resort to the trash food that was everywhere and anywhere... it was pretty tough to find a decent meal.

We got into Mammoth lakes last night after a 5-6 hour bus ride from LA and got into our new apartment which is in a pretty nice location for us. We were expecting a small apartment just for the 2 of us but ended up in a place with 4 other guys (all american), so we have a bit of adjusting to do.

Today we were up early to get our employee processing/paperwork out of the way and get as much skiing in as possible. Mammoth got over a foot of snow the day before we arrived and it has been coming down all today so we got some nice skiing in. We start our training for work tomorrow and we're tight for time before the supermarket closes, so gotta go!

the indoor cricket looked good! Mammoth looks nice, down the bottom looks a bit low on snow though, hopefully it's a lot snowier up the top! :) looks like you boys are in for a kick arse time, communal showers?! :D
