Forever 21 is a big clothes department founded in 1984 by Do Wand Chang. It is a American brand that originated in California. It is heard from Huffington Post that the factories that make the clothes for Forever 21 is considered a "sweatshop" factory. The company owned factory in Southern California has low waged workers and mainly Latin American and Asian employees in these factories. There has been 1,500 inspections and 93% of the results are similar to the sweatshops in foreign countries. How are they paid? well they are paid by how many pieces sewed instead of per hour like other jobs. In 2001, employees complained and sued Forever 21 for the unsafe and dirty working conditions and worked overtime without being paid. After the case was settled in 2004, Forever 21 said that they would improve the working conditions in the factories.
