Little Prince Kids Café, an enjoyable experience for place for parents and kids
I really enjoy places where I can take my 3 year old son Daniel, and be able to relax knowing that he is in a fun, friendly, and safe environment. One of those
such places is the Little Prince Kids Café. The chain of restaurants is Korean owned, and the pilot location in the United States is in Buena Park, CA. It is an atmosphere where adults can relax and sip coffee as their children play with caring attendants. The layout is a beautiful café setting on one side of the restaurant with a first class children’s playground and library on the other side.
In this review I will cover the theme, organization, menu, service and overall value.
Theme restaurants are common in the city of Buena Park, CA is also home to Knott’s Berry Farm which is the home to Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. Medieval Times has its kings, knights and princesses and the Pirates Dinner Adventure is a pirate themed dining experience. These places all have something in common with “Little Prince Kids café” in that they all have a theme
and mascot or characters. At “Little Prince kids café” there is a character called “Little Prince” who will come out and do dances with the workers and get the kids
involved. It is a lot of fun for the kids to be able to interact with a character; that is something you don’t have at the local playground.
Organization and attention to detail is the first thing you will notice as you enter the restaurant. As it is a Korean owned restaurant, it has its Asian charm as you exchange your street shoes for slippers. Lockers are provided for shoes and children can be barefoot but socks are probably best. The décor is bright and what you would expect in a trendy modern hotel. The smell of coffee beans permeates the air. Each child has an admission fee of $8.00 for 2 hours of play and the kids get stickers on their backs with their names and entry times. The kids are usually in the playground area before the adults can sit down on the comfy furniture at tables. Wi-fi is free and is password secured. They have the latest video camera system that keeps the location safe and
everybody who walks through the door is seen and monitored by Staff. Cleanliness of the dining area and play area is exceptional. The restrooms are large, clean and baby friendly. For nursing mothers there is a private room available. The adults spend time at relaxing seats and tables which creates a welcoming atmosphere for
snacking or even having a large dinner.
You are expected to order off the menu. The menu is very extensive and multicultural. They have soup and salad, thirteen different appetizers, nine rice
dishes, pizza, a kiddie menu, special menu items that even includes a full rack of baby back ribs, a Korean menu and also desert menu. I like the sweet potato fries
for an appetizer and the chicken fajita for a main course. My wife likes the spectacular fruit chocolate fondue as a desert. There is so much variety ranging from the Korean kogi taco to a chicken alfredo pasta it is all there no matter what your preference. There are hot drinks, cold drinks, and traditional Korean drinks. Many organic teas and all favorite children’s drinks are also available. They do not offer alcoholic beverages because it is a kid oriented place.
I enjoy the service because it is very hospitable and welcoming. The hosts will be sure to make sure that a visit is enjoyable. When I needed a quieter place to work they put me in a private party room which was much appreciated. The tables all have a call button so that you can be sure to have someone to meet
your request very quickly. The personal attention that the kids receive is also very good ranging from face painting to dressing up the boys as super heroes and the girls as princesses. Special events are held often and it is also a unique and comfortable place for a childs birthday celebration. My son enjoys the indoor playground with its zip line and mini obstacle course. There is plenty of room to climb inside a huge playhouse and there is also a plastic ball cannon. There are many educational toys as well as a children’s library that not only has books
in English but also in Korean. Do not expect to hear any of “Barney’s Greatest Hits”. The childrens music is fun and refreshing and Michael Buble and John Tesh songs are also played to also make
parents relax with music.
My overall value experience with the Little Prince Kids Café has been excellent. I feel good there and my son loves it there and it is very difficult to get him to leave. He usually will take the high ground on the playground and make me go after him to the amusement of everyone when he knows his play time is about to end. My only complaint on this location is the high prices which is a common complaint in a struggling economy. With such diverse menu and beautiful location to maintain the high prices are necessary. Expect to spend around twenty five dollars for you and your child at a two hour play session. This is a not a Chuck E. Cheeses restaurant. It is a nice place and the Managers
work hard to keep the place looking good.
If you live near Orange County, California or are planning a trip with your Kids, it is worth spending a couple hours at this restaurant. I must warn that you
have to like new concepts and enjoy multiculturalism to enjoy this place. It is a alternate to other themed restaurants in the
area as the concept is still fairly new.
Another advantage is that younger children are not going to be frightened by fighting characters or special effects that other restaurants use. The owners are
taking applications for other franchise locations in the United States. If you stress out about what the final bill will be or are wondering if you have enough left in
your account to cover the check, this is not the place for you. I like to go about once a month when I need the break and want my son to enjoy the indoor playground. This is also a good place for rainy days or even for a night play session. “Little Prince Kids Café” is a Champion in my babysitting playbook.
