A brand new day at LA!

we flew to orange county, irvine to stay with a friend to save $$$ *grin...and it was a pretty neat house, american where DIY is the in-thing...my friend's hubby did everything..from scratch...kitchen cupboards, hardwood floor, re-modelled the bathroom - hey he did the plumbing works as well :0 plus lay the berber carpet - nice neat carpet......and also he started painting the wall..when we went out...hmmm....he's a real DIY guy....

everyday is a new day...i found out how to drive to UCLA - some 50-60miles from irvine...and also that everyone here drives quickly...which makes me a pretty slow driver keeping to the speed limit of 65miles per hour....*grin...

my friend lent me a pretty cool miata (mazda)...a sports convertible...which has a low cg..so u kinda look up to everyone on the freeway...ie the highway (in singapore terms)...

n seriously for this trip, i experience driving in the rain, in the dark, over hills (in SF), super fast cars ...in LA along 405...alongside huge trucks...

there's a post office, STA travel office, bookstore, jumble sale, souvenirs, even oven gloves n golf balls...which i bought*grin..
