enroute to LA
the picturesque San Luis lake...a man-make lake that supplies water to SF.. Yesterday was spent travelling from SF to Anaheim, LA. It was a tiring trip. The highlight of the many hours of travelling - yep around 10 hours or more (what with traffic jam the way it is at LA) was the 2.5 hrs we had at Gilroy Premium factory outlets...where many of us spent our time happily boosting the american economy with our christmas shopping. I was happy that Derek, our TSO, was so meticulous in planning for the trip that he had actually downloaded coupons that offer great discounts for our purchase!! hmmm..he's really a great guy to have on this kinda shopping trip.
Also we were given a real treat when we walked back after dinner to our hotel. The dinner was interesting...imagine eating naan and curry in an authentic indian restaurant in Anaheim!
On the way back, we were greeted by loud bangs and a dazzling sky..shooting rockets and stars...aha...it was the disneyland fireworks display which we managed to catch when we walked back to the hotel. The gals were so excited that they forgot the cold and stood there watching...gaping....snapping pix...and soaking in the
magic of disney *grin
We visited California State University, LA
group pix at the Golden Eagle
a group pix at the landmark of CSULa, the golden eagle.... on Thurs instead of Friday as it was veterans day - a public holiday for the university. Pearl Chen the assistant prof, had a great programme lined up for us...including talks, makan and tour of the university. It was really nice to see Pearl again after all this while and to have them spent the morning with us. The gals also got a chance to present their portfolios using Think.com
Lunch on Thurs was at California Science Centre and we managed to catch the exhibition on animation by Cartoon networks. For me, it was the first time i tried to do music synchronisation with the movie....
what a day...tomorrow we go to the famed hollywood and avenue of stars..beverly hills...and UCLA...cheers!
