Waiting at the Airport
Still a little sleepy but sooo excited! After 3 hours of sleep Tuesday morning - I was up and heading off to the airport. Geez, last minute things sure take a LONG time to pack!
Linds and I flew to LA (and slept pretty much the whole way) and had over 12 hours to kill before our flight took off to Singapore. We certainly were not staying in the airport. As luck would have it, we were getting off the plane and heard this girl (we later found out her name was Leslie) talking about having a 12 hour layover on her way to Sinapore and then unto Adelaide, Australia. Well, we got to chatting and decided to hang out. She’d also met this guy named Blair (from Edmonton as well) on the plane who was vacationing in LA. He was renting a car and cruising around until he met up with friends later that night. So, we ended up hanging out all together. What an awesome time!!! Blair had planned to rent a convertible but golf clubs and 3 girls didn't quite fit in the non-existent back seat, so we ended up with the Dodge Dorango. A close second I suppose to a sporty convertible with
On the Beach
But it was much too cold for a swim the top down.
We spent the afternoon in Santa Monica, walking around, chatting, lying on the beach (it was actually super cold though, only about 18C, so no swimming for me), went for dinner and then Blair dropped us off at the airport. We all hope to have a reunion back in Etown in May!!!
No complaints so far to the spontaneity of travelling!!! Thanks Leslie and Blair - had a great time meeting up and hope to see you again soon. Safe travels!
PS. Sorry no pics - after all the last minute packing, I FORGOT my USB cable and can't upload my pics...it'll have to wait until I get them on CD. (The fued with my digital camera is beginning, I can tell - I LOOOOOVE technology!)
