I heart Laos! Hey Em - sounds like you are having a great time. Your blog made me sooo jealous, I loved Laos and floating down the river was a definite highlight. Good call on not taking the bus to Hanoi, we flew aswell. Talked to more then one person who said it was the busride from hell (and in Asia that is saying a lot) Make sure you try the Beer Hoi in Hanoi and beware - it is a different world to Laos. Bit of culture shock after the laid back Laos vibe - you will see what I mean when you get there! Keep having a blast and I love the updates - gives me something to dream about in my cold office!

More highlights Em, I forgot to mention how great it was for you to get together with Jane. What a fluke that she was there at the same time as you. Also, we will be willing subjects for your massage practice...ah-h-h and for your authentic thai cooking...yummy! More baci. Mom
Wow! Wow!! What a fabulous adventure and what fantastic experiences. Next time you come to visit you'll have to cook us a Thai meal (after our Thai massage, of course). Keep having fun. Looking forward to reading about Laos.

You Go Guy! :-) Hello Emily, I pray that all is well with you on your great journey. You are such a strong inspiration with you adventures in Asia! I had talk to your folks this past weekend and, everytime we communicate via telephone or email, I will ask about you. I hope you are a photo princess like your father is a photo king! Do continue to enjoy a once and a life time journey.
Great stories Hi Emily. I'm really enjoying reading your stories of your travels. I love your descriptions of your "modes of transportation." Your motorbike story reminded us of a little girl, a long time ago, on the back of Uncle Don's bike. (I just found the photo!) The beaches sound (and look) fabulous. Enjoy, take care and don't forget your sunscreen!Looking forward to the next instalment... Aunt Elaine
You lucky girl! Oh my god- Phi Phi is just the best place ever. I hoped you impressed the English guy with all your recent knowledge of the country- and remember to say how great Birmingham is to everyone you meet!!! Enjoy the full moon! xx
Family Day in Alberta ... New Years in Thailand Dear Em Wishing you happy new year in this the year of the Pig! Hope you and Lindsay celebrate well! We celebrated Family Day and Mark's birthday with a big dinner and an ice-cream cake from DQ! Remember too, it's Pancake Tuesday and another day to celebrate! I hear those Thai Pancakes are extra good in the sunshine! Travel Safe, Explore What's Possible and Keep Having Fun! Love Dad.
Motorcycle Maybe when your trade in your car for a motorcycle we can ride together when you get back. But you have to take the safety course first. My daughter Justine is thinking of taking the course. We are a biker family and it's such fun.
You are making great memories over there. Looking forward to working with you in the next family constellation as we seem to hook up one way or another.
Travel well

Motorbike Diva & More Hi Em, Langkawi sounds like paradise 2 (the beach, the sand, the water, the islands and the icing on the cake--a wonderful place to stay ). Trading in the Civic, eh? You've been away too long if you have forgotten -20 degree Edmonton. Maybe adding to your collection of vehicles makes more sense? Your pics will be worth the wait. Journey safely. Baci, Mom
Leaving Malaysia Hello Thailand Dear Em Your island hopping sounded like a great time! Can only imagine watching the Eagles soaring. Reminds me of the trip to the Arctic with Mark as we watch Eagles. But nobody left food for them! Have fun on the bus and ferry. We await those kickin' pics. Love Dad.
Happy V-day to all the girls (and boys too, i guess) Hey girls. Sorry no V-day party was scheduled this year to eat yummy food and watch Sex and the City. Next V-day I promise - it'll be spectacular, just as it always is! Hope you all have a good one and spend it with someone you love. I'm alone but still smiling and falling in love with the beach and sunsets.
Miss you! Hey Emily;

another day in paradise Hi Emily. It's great that each new place is a new paradise, and so different from the one before. I loved your description of the toilets. Soooo true. Brings back "fond" memories of my China experience. (One of the only times in my life I would have liked to be a man!!) Looking forward to your next adventure. Aunt Elaine
Luxury at home & on the road Your hike sounds fabulous, fulfilling and fantastic, but not luxurious. Now about that other luxury...the laundry. You will feel the same luxury on your first day back home. Alas, after that you are on your own in becoming one with laundry day!! Continue to enjoy your wonderful adventure.
Love, Mom
Here I am, my first travel blog site. Be VERY impressed with my new found computer skills!!!
So this is the scoop... I'm off on an adventure to SEA - to lie on the beach, learn the art of Thai massage, trek in the jungle and swim in the ocean. Wow, 3 months of pure chil-laxing! And to top it off, my friend Lindsay and I are travelling the world together (or at least for part of it)!
I hope to keep in touch with friends and familiy while I'm away using this blog. Enjoy the stories and the photos - I'll try to keep them coming as often as I can. And of course, feel free to leave fabul... full info
