We're updating this a little late again as we were too tired to do it last night after a second long day at Universal Studios! This entry will probably be a bit shorter than the others as we basically did the same things as the first day so I won't have to go into detail about the rides and stuff.
So we got up a little later, around 7:30, got ready and had our usual cereal/toast breakfast and went down to get the Metro to Universal City. We got to the shuttle bus stop at around 9:45 and there were quite a few people waiting by this point, we got on the second bus that came and ended up getting into the park just after 10.
We decided that as everyone would go to the Studio Tour first, we went over to the Simpson's ride first instead. We spotted the Simpson's outside the Kwik-E-Mart and got a photo with them before getting into the small queue, which was around 15 minutes. We were soon on, and it was every bit as awesome as it was the first time round! Following this, we went down the escalators to the lower
lot to the Mummy ride, where there was absolutely no queue at all! We took advantage of this and went on a fair few times before going back up to the upper lot.
We watched the Animal Actors show again as it's so damn cute, and took a few videos too. We then had some dinner, we went back to Mel's Diner again for a chilli cheese dog (although Emma had hers without cheese as she doesn't like it that much) and Craig remembered to take a picture of his.
We then watched the Waterworld show again and took a few videos of that too. When we watched it the other day the main special effects ending (a seaplane coming over a wall and landing in the water) didn't happen but this time it did and we took a video of this too. We will try to upload some of these videos if it will let us, although they are quite big files so it may take a while.
We then went down to the studio tour, hoping that we might get on the right side of the tram this time, but unfortunately we ended up on
the left again. It was still good to see everything again and King Kong 360 is always amazing whichever side you are on. We took a few more pictures of the fake sets (literally, most of the buildings on the photos are made of wood and polystyrine) and we got closer to the big blue screen and lake (which was drained at the time) where loads of stuff has been filmed such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Bruce Almighty, Jaws and scenes from the upcoming Spiderman film.
By this point it was getting very hot so we decided that a soaking on Jurassic Park wouldn't go amiss. We went down the escalators again and got drenched once again on the ride, but soon dried off in the sun after sitting in it for a little while after (whilst watching the reactions of others on the ride getting wet on the last drop).
We then went for another ride on the Mummy (by the way whilst we are writing this in McDonalds a crazy man has just announced that this is his town and "the church of Scientology down the road is actually a church of Homosexualogy" LOL) and
then back up for one last go on the Simpson's ride. We watched one last showing of the Animal Actors show, as we were hoping we would see this little dog that came on when we watched it the first time, running on his back legs which was hilarious, but he didn't show up 😞 However, there was a newish 'actor' dog that was being a bit disobedient but it was funny - he kept getting closer and closer to his treat with every command, literally ending up with his nose touching his treat and he kept barking at it!
After a long day, we were very tired again, so we headed back to the Travelodge, walking back down the steep hill again as there was another huge queue for the shuttle bus. Craig picked up a meatball marinara Subway for $2 (bargain!) - although he did end up burning his mouth on it - whilst Emma still had her Subway in the fridge from the previous night so she ate that. We then fell asleep at about 9:30 and didn't get up until around 7:30 this morning. I will post details on todays events in the next blog.
