Hallo Freunde!

Preparations are well underway for the Woz Cup 2009 in the Ross household! Rob is so proud of the new Gold Rush jerseys and his prized new helmet. You may have noticed the "photo montage" he posted on his facebook account. He'll be the only player on the field with a custom helmet painted by none other than the great Art Himsl! Seriously, Art Himsl. He's been busy practicing with a new mallet & talkin' strategy. With as many late night calls from the mysterious "Oz" over the last few weeks, a girl could question if he was having an affair. But rest assured my friends, I've met team captain "Oz" and I can safely say that the man eats, breathes & sleeps segway polo right now. No time for hanky panky....its all 'bout the cup!

Of course I'm preparing in my own way to spend a week in Germany as a "Segway Polo groupie". Been reading a few travel books, my favorite is "Is Those Crazy Germans" by Steven Somers. I've got to get a plug converter today & most importantly I've confirmed the hotel has wifi access so that I can post daily updates on our german adventure!

Tonight it's time to pull out the bags & tackle the mountain of laundry that awaits. Not sure just how I'm going to get a 6ft banner into a bag & over to Germany!

Beifall (Cheers)

Christie

Go Get 'Em!
Defend that world title, Baby! You're the only world champion OF ANYTHING that I know, so duplicating the effort will make you even more rare! I hope your team appreciates the sacrifice and training to which you committed prior to leaving...all of those rejected margaritas and shots you denied yourself the night before you left, just for your conditioning for another world championship! What a finely conditioned athlete! Now bring back the GOLD to Folsom! BQ

Yeah!!
Thanks for sharing your journey with everyone, Christie. I'm looking forward to following the events and fun. (There is a better team photo, by the way, as the one posted here says "2008" rather than "2009"; it was a typo with a life of its own.) Regards, David #10
