From Grammy's point of view:
On this day we slept in (6:30?) it was sunny and warm.
We headed to the Military National Battelfield in Vicksburg, a civil war monument for the soliders that fought there. After a quick history lesson at the visitor center, we headed out. It was a 16 mile trail around the park, that everyone was enjoying including hikers, bikers and moms with strollers. The monuments for the men from different states, Iowa, Illinois,Ohio, Florida and Wisconsin to name a few. After the auto tour loop, we stopped at the U.S.S. Cairo, a Civil War era Ironclad ship. It rested on the bottom of the Mississippi River for over a hundred years, before being raised. It was turned into a Museum, and it was great the kids really enjoyed it. We loved the park and the seeing the Cairo. We left there knowing we had a 5 hour drive northwest ahead of us. It was a beautiful drive and a great way to see the country.
