Chiricahua Natl Mon, AZ
Kerry says "Who needs interstates." It got really cold last night, we saw 18 degrees this morning. The heater warmed the camper to 41 degrees, but it was still chilly.
We crossed the continental divide and, an hour later, into the state of Arizona.
We headed south from Willcox to Chiricahua National Monument. Another beautiful park with wonderful rock formations and green trees. After all the desert, green looks great. And to top it off, it snowed here a couple of nights ago and there is still a good bit of snow on the ground and on the mountains. They call areas like Chiricahua "sky islands" because they are clusters of mountains out in the middle of flat lands. It was cold and windy up in the high areas, but the views were worth the chill.
