Our goal was to leave by noon so we all said we would shoot for 10:00am. We left at 1:45pm. My fault entirely! The task ahead of my was daunting: packing for 4 weeks away from home across 3 continents, each with a different climate entirely! My journey begins with a 6 hour trip across the desert with my family: my wife Stephannie and two children, Hannah (13) and Madisen (10). Our trip takes us from our home in Chandler, Arizona to Universal City, California. I will be spending the next 3 days with Stephanie Harner, the Cyology Applications Specialists for Southern California. My wife Stephannie and the girls plan on taking in some sights in Los Angeles. I'm taking Thursday and Friday off to spend time with them before the next leg of my journey. On Thursday we are going to see our favorite musical - WICKED! and on Friday we are planning on going to Universal Studios. My wife has coordinated this trip with 8 families from Arizona and it should be a great time.

Our trip was relatively uneventful - a slow leak in one of our tires necessitated a stop in Quartzite Arizona (remind me to get that fixed when I get back!) We stopped and had dinner in Palm Springs at Pasta Cali (I wouldn't recommend it - Stephannie said the meatballs tasted like play-dough). We arrived at the Hilton in Universal City, California around 9pm and crashed.
