Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park

The Painted Desert is located in Concho Arizona known for its diverse colors such as shades of blueish purple and the usual badlands red rock.
I enjoyed my drive and hikes into the colored hills.
The Petrified Forest dates back about 225 million years ago of fallen fossilized trees in the Triassic period. The once wooden trees are now made of mostly solid quartz with layers of colors.
