Scenic Route 89A + Grand Staircase Escalante

Von Page richtung Westen führt die U.S. Route 89A und führt u.a.


• durch die Vermillion Cliffs
• über die Navajo Bridge
• vorbei an der Cliff Dwellers Lodge, wo Blanche Russells Auto den Geist aufgegeben hat, und sie beschlossen hat gleich hierzubleiben
• entlang der Route die die Erkunder Escalante und Domínguez 1776 auf ihrem Weg durchs unbekannte Land genommen hatten
• übers Kaibab Plateau und den gleichnamigen National Forest



bis nach Kanab in Utah



Der Rückweg über die parallel verlaufende U.S Route 89 bietet folgendes zu sehen:


• den Paria Canyon wo von 1870 bis 1929 noch ein paar Leute wohnten, von denen nur noch ein Friedhof übrig ist. Manchmal wurde der Ort als Filmkulisse verwendet, jedoch sind mittlerweile alle Kulissen zerstört.
• Hoodoos, Toadstool rocks und Redneck Cliffs
• Lake Powell
• und den Glen-Canyon Dam

Changes by seasons
I find your blogs fascinating, particularly as I traveled through these areas in January and they were covered in snow. Only a few months later the images and vibe are so different as shown by your photos.
