After leaving our cabin this am we went out for breakfast, went to Walmart to get rubber boots for todays excursion, went looking for Kenai's Caribou herd (no luck), got a few groceries for Homer. Then headed to the airport for our next excursion - Grizzlies! Flew over Cook Inlet and landed on Silver Salmon Creek beach and there they were ! A mother and 3 cubs (about 2 years old). Walked out on the Glacier silt flats until we were within 25' of them. WOW!! Another item to check off my bucket list and my #1 priority for this trip. Got to spend about an hour with the bears. When we took off from the beach we flew over Mt Redoubt ( an active volcano) and the double Glacier. Beautiful!!
Drove the 1 1/2 hr to our next stop. The 1st view of Homer left me awestruck!! The snow capped mountains backdrop with the sea green of Katchman Bay! Which also happens to be our view from our cabin the next 5 days. What a day . We got alot of great ? shots but only had a few on my camera. Need to get at downloading
