Wednesday morning we awoke to the narrow stretches of Tracy Arm Fjord, leading up to the South Sawyer Glacier. We took a four hour journey up the narrow passage which provided close up views of some spectacular, unspoiled wilderness. The ship maneuvered the floating ice chunks to the edge of the glacier and its ice field. An amazing sight.

Upon leaving Tracy Arms, we headed to Alaska’s capitol city, Juneau.

It was still early in the season, so we saw some huge pieces from the glacier.

This as a special tour. The smaller boat was able to navigate up the narrow confines to the north fork of the glacier. They met up with us in Juneau.
