After checking out the fishing status out on the Homer Spit and we headed to the Boardwalk Bakery. The bakery is owned by Jackie Johnson. Jackie is a family friend we met in San Antonio 5 years ago. Ten years ago she fell in love with Homer. Then four years ago she found the bakery for sale, so she quit her job, bought the bakery and moved to Homer. She is living out a life long dream. We all have dreams, but Jackie took the bull by the horns and made her dream happen. She stays in Homer from May to September and then comes back to Texas for the winter. She and her sister work 7 days a week getting up at 3 am to start making their wonderful goodies. I don't think I would like the getting up at 3 am part. When you see the view they have every morning from their apartment (above the bakery) you will be jealous too.

Lunch was pretty yummy. The cinnamon roll was pretty darn good too.
