Got up at 5 to catch the 8 am ferry to Haines. Nice voyage. Explored the town and got settled into our new lodging. Gorgeous view of the bay. Went to the brewery. Excellent beer. Then to the lighthouse for a delicious Italian meal. We had high expectations for Haines based on what we've been told and am not disappointed! Amazing! Beautiful.

Just entered South Dakota! First day of travel went pretty smooth. Minor change of plans this am. . . Had planned on taking my vehicle but at the last minute decided to take Mike's truck! A little bit of extra work - but I think it was the right decision. More room, better tires, 4 wheel drive for the snow that is predicted, etc.... full info
