Day 42 - July 27, 2010 - Denali, AK

Slept in this morning. Got up went for a ride 15 miles into Denali to Savage River. Furtherest point you can drive your personal vehicle without a special camping permit. Took a two mile hike here and saw arctic ground squirrels, moose, and three ptarmigans(chickens :-). Bought our tickets for the shuttle bus ride into Denali tomorrow to Eilsen - 66 mile bus ride. On our way out we did see Mount McKinnely in the far distance. For dinner, Shelby T cooked smothered porkchops, rice & gravy, green beans, and biscuits.
