Anchorage Zoo

Back to work. Danielle and the girls went to the Alaska Zoo. They saw polar bears, arctic fox, grizzlies, a snowy owl and whole host of other animals. Danielle talked to one of the zookeepers who told her that they would be moving the elephant to a warmer home soon. Apparently, there was a fair amount of bad press about the elephant having to deal with cold weather (made us think back to the polar bear at the RI zoo). Rumor was that Bob Barker was at the zoo that day filming and raising a ruckus. Danielle had seen a bunch of stuffed suits in golf carts zooming around (may have been him…) The girls picked me up at work and we headed south to Potters Marsh to meet up with the very nie homeschool folks that they had met on Friday. We walked the boardwalk and did a little birdwatching.
