Slept well apart from I'd forgotten to turn off my phone alarm... Oops!! Got up earlyish and went downstairs for the breakfast included - pancakes :-) Good start to the day! We had the day to ourselves so went to Isla Mujeres. After getting completely lost we caught a cab to the ferry stop - Puerto Juarez. The ferry had a man with a guitar singing at us for the journey across, the sun was shining after a cloudy start and it was beginning to feel like a holiday!
On the Island we managed out 1st local bus to Tortugranja, a turtle farm with pools and protected shores for them. There were palm sized babies up to 300kg giants. Sadly here I realised the camera wasn't working (don't worry not broken!) and had to wait to the hostel to try and sort it out.
We then wandered along to a beach and chilled with a few beers and a book. Walked back up to the ferry, which was a good but painful walk in flip flops and returned to Cancun.
We then tried to navigate back to the hostel but gave up as the road signs were a little ambiguous! Getting the taxi made us realise we had gone the right way but the scale was rather off on the map.
Back at the hostel I met a nice girl called Helen who lent me her tweasers to try and help fix the camera - the memory stick adaptor didn't seem to like the camera... Managed to get ot out eventually and came to the conclusion that the adaptors were not going to work. So off to a camera place tomorrow...
